He gets the non-too-subtle hint, of course, but feels awkward leaving her. Breaking away from Jono, he crosses the room to give his mom and hug. "I'll be back soon," Jackson promises, surprised to find that he doesn't want to leave her again. Not so soon, anyway, and not after how he left the last time.

When he's finally nudged away, Jackson goes back to Jono, offering one of his hands. Come on, I'll show you my room.
